Recently the supposed side effects of kava have been receiving lots of negative publicity in the news. Dr. P. A. Cox, director of Hawaii’s National Tropical Garden, commented: “The indigenous people of the Pacific have used kava longer than anyone in Europe and if there is a liver threat then they should be suffering from it.
